More about Tamalyn:
Tamalyn Dallal began her bellydance career in 1976. She toured South America, dancing for Arab communities throughout the continent from 1984-1986, then founded and directed the Mid Eastern Dance Exchange, a non-profit organization, dance school and performing company in Miami Beach. It ran from 1990- 2007, where she taught and mentored many dancers who became well known and formed careers of their own. Hundreds also studied for the sheer joy of dance and its benefits for body, mind and spirit. She organized the Orientalia International dance festival in Miami Beach for 14 years, which featured many luminary artists. The festival was subsequently produced in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hong Kong and Zanzibar. She created numerous theatrical productions in Miami, and later in Shanghai, China.

Tamalyn traveled to Asia to teach and dance for extended periods. She taught a month long workshop in Shanghai, China every year for ten years and has taught regularly in Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia, as well as periodically in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. She now lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she teaches classes on Zoom and weekly in person classes, as well as out of town workshops.
